Hello dinos and barbs! I’m pleased to announce that my fourth book has recently been published.
If you’ve been following this page for a while, then you might remember that my intention was to publish another book about ancient Rome – I’ve written two books on Roman history already entitled Four Days in September and The Great Illyrian Revolt. Unfortunately, the task of researching and writing my third Roman book has dragged on and on for a while, and it still isn’t finished yet, and I needed to get out another book ASAP!
So, keeping up with the ancient Egyptian theme that I’ve had going ever since last year when my novel Servant of a Living God was published, I decided to publish a second ancient Egyptian book.
Whenever people asked me over the past few months what my fourth book would be about, I usually responded “It is a short book on ancient Egyptian philosophy”. Yes, I know – this is something which is definitely outside of my wheel-house. This started off as a spin-off project from researching my ancient Egyptian novel, which I was holding onto for my own personal use. At first, it was just a dozen or so pages long. However, as I researched more, this spin-off manuscript got longer and longer, and I gradually got the notion in my head that this could be an entirely separate book in itself. Well, so be it. I finished the manuscript in November 2025, and the long (and sometimes aggravating) publishing process has been going on since then.
But no longer. My newest book, The Sebayts, has been officially released. “Sebayts” was the ancient Egyptian word for “instructions” or “teachings”, and these were basically treatises written on a variety of topics for how to live life properly, from how to be a good king, to how to exercise righteousness and virtue, to having proper table manners. Researching this project led me to the absolutely hilarious conclusion that people living 5,000 years ago were basically the same as people around today. Many of the things that we are concerned with today were things that weighed on their minds too, and the things which get on our nerves today are also things which got under their skin as well.

My book The Sebayts is currently available on Amazon in e-book and paperback versions. It’s a short book, numbering just 108 pages, and you can easily get through it in one day. It took me just five hours to read the entire thing from front to back when I was proof-reading it. Unfortunately, I’ve been having quite a few problems with getting this book uploaded onto other platforms, but I’m hoping to have these bugs ironed out soon.
So pick up a copy today! I’m sure that you’ll be quite pleased.
Take care, everyone. And, as always, keep your pencils sharp.
